His side of the story...
The wife and kids were gone and I was left with an empty
house. It was GREAT!
I seized the opportunity to watch all the movies my wife
wouldn’t watch with me and eat fast food at every meal.
After watching the last movie on my list and wolfing down a
double-cheeseburger, I decided I should redeem the time with
something constructive. I decided I should take some extra
time in prayer and Bible study.
As I studied, God showed me something new. It was nothing I
was looking for and nothing I expected. I felt my marriage
was fine. We had weathered difficult storms and we were
still together. We had our ups and downs, but what marriage
hasn’t? I was comfortable with the way things were.
In one night, that all changed.
That one night changed my relationship with God, the
relationship with my wife and every other area of my life.
Looking back now, it was a revelation I had not sought, but
one I truly needed.
At the Returning to the Garden Marriage Retreat, we will
share with you the principles that God has shown us and
teach you how you can easily apply them to your life.
Men, this retreat is not a “touchy-feely,
get-in-touch-with-your-emotions” event. When you attend you
will be challenged, as I was, to answer the call of
Returning to the Garden.
